A romance that will ghost away your stress AND the AmAzInG book deal I scored and how you can too

I've been thinking hard lately.  Like the kind of thinking hard where you are scrunching your eyebrows and don't even know it.  Nothing serious.  Sometimes it's just the mundane aspects of life that are on my mind.  Sometimes, it just takes a lot of energy to plan the day, get everyone what they need, squeak in a bit of physical activity, try to have a semi clean home, etc.  That's the kind of thinking that has worn on my lately.  Maybe it's more trying to cram too much into a day. Maybe it's cabin fever from the winter weather. I bet many of you can relate to this feeling. A bit of a brain break was in order and Ashley Poston certainly fulfilled with The Dead Romantics .  I'm a rom-com fan but never really thought of myself as a romance fan.  I always thought of romance novels as steamy, make me blush, kind of books.  The Dead Romantics  is totally a romance but not in that steamy sort of way - rather like a cozy hug at the perfect moment.  It&#

Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah

I devoured 70 pages the first night, which may be nothing for some of you, but for me I may only read 20 pages here or there. The next day was a hundred+ pages. A basic synopsis might help (just remember this is my first ever book review or blog) - a woman, Jo, is visited by a child, Ursa, who claims to be an alien in a child's body and says she will not leave until she has witnessed five miracles. The story evolves to share how this alien child impacts the characters lives in small and big ways. Let me start by saying, aliens are not my thing. I'm not sure why I even selected this book, given that sci-fi is not my style. But I gave it a chance and I'm glad I did. I wouldn't categorize this book as Sci-Fi. It has elements of relationships, connection, mystery, romance, and curiosity. It lends an opportunity for the imagination to roam. Although I didn't really see myself in the characters, I found myself interested in them. Jo and Gabe are so kind and genuine. Ursa is intriguing. The author painted vivid pictures of the characters' personalities. Given my career history of working with people often facing challenging situations, I had guesses about what could be happening but was still surprised by the ending and found myself staying up late just to know how it ended. I would love to know more about where their relationships and connections led.  This leaves me wondering, what would my five miracles be and how would they compare to the miracles of Ursa? Maybe sometimes small things may be the miracle we should be looking for, not a big life-altering event.  Now to select my next book.  I spy a book on my ottoman about seven husbands... say what?!?
